    How about a restaurant?

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for nailing down a date--July 28 sounds great for us.  I enjoyed looking at the pictures from the mini-reunion.  I'm so glad Sam was able to be there!   Anyway, I will throw out a suggestion for the reunion.  What about meeting at a nice restaurant?  Depending on how many people will be there, we may be able to get a general party reservation.  Even if we had to pay a little extra for a private space, I wouldn't mind that.  If anyone has favorite haunts, let everyone know.  I suggest the Bonefish Grill, which I see is located right in Schaumburg.  We have one here, and it is amazing!  Not too stuffy, just awesome, fresh food.  Check out their website at www.bonefishgrill.com.  We could also meet somewhere in the city.  I haven't been in so long so I don't have any suggestions, but I'm sure someone out there does.  Any other thoughts?

    Re: How about a restaurant?

A restaurant sounds great.  Do we want to do something on Friday night and Saturday or just 1 event?

(To update the people who weren't at the 10yr we had a dinner on Friday evening and a cook out on Saturday.)

I think a restaurant is a great idea, we should have no problem getting a private room.  The other question is do we make it "family oriented" or just adults; it kind of determines what kind of restaurant we choose.

     Keep the suggestions coming.

Adults only sounds MUCH BETTER TO ME!!! Don't you think it'd be SOOO crazy with that many kids in a restaurant?? Just a  thought??

I think that if we are going to do two things like last time we should do dinner without kids and a picnic with because that was really fun to see everyone with their families.

If we will only do one thing then I would prefer a Saturday picnic with families.

    Saturday picnic/bbq

If you want to do a picnic/bbq I would be more than happy to have it at my house! We have a fairly large house it's about 5 minutes from SCS and we have plenty of room indoors and/or outdoors and plenty for the kids to do in and out too.  Up to you guys though, but I totally would NOT mind having a bbq here on Saturday (I LOVE to cook, we entertain a lot). Friday dinner sounds good too, I'm up for anything, I just can't wait to see everyone!!!!

BLEH.  We were so UNimpressed with Bonefish.  Mediocre at best, definitely not worth the cost!  I worry that an upscale adults only thing may be cost prohibitive to some.  A more family-friendly backyard BBQ is sure to suit EVERYONE.  We can all contribute a flat amount per person to cover the cost of food & just have everyone bring their beverage of choice, no judgment.  (This means you can bring your own bottle of wine and not be shunned).  (Well, okay I will shun you for poor taste in wine if you bring Boone's Farm :D ).

I agree on a picnic type gathering.  I think if we do adult only it will make it harder on those coming from out of town.  Just my opinion.
