What have you been up to since '92?
I figure it's time for a new thread here. So, let's get to know eachother all over again. What have you been doing since that day in 1992 when you walked away from SCS? I went to BJU that fall. Stayed there for 3 years before I admitted it wasn't where I should have gone in the first place, and I transfered to Northland. I spent 3 summers working as a camp counselor, one summer in Michigan and two in Wisconsin. I graduated from Northland in 1997 with a BS in Home Economics. I actually finished classes in the fall of '96, but they didn't do a mid-year graduation, so I had to wait. The spring of '97 I spent in Washington DC working for a student touring company. It was a blast, I loved it and I have great memories of that city. The fall of '97 I began work as a teacher in Wisconsin. I taught there in a school for two years and then I decided to move to Colorado with my best friend, so we could both find cowboys to fall in love with. I taught in a school that was very much like SCS that year. For spring break I went to Italy with a couple friends. I really hated teaching in that school and as soon as that school year was over (spring 2000) I began work as a nanny in Boulder. I worked for very fun, very rich people. It was nice, I worked 30-40 hours a week and made a killer salary. I traveled to the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands on their dime. Not bad really! I was working as a nanny in '02 and had just returned from a trip to Spain when we had our 10 year reunion. I had also been asked on my first date with the man I ended up marrying! We had that date the week after I got back from Chicago, we were basically inseperatable after that, we got engaged on October 29th and married 6 days later in Las Vegas!! We ran off and didn't tell anyone, it was very fun! The week after we were married was pretty darn rough, my dog was hit by a car and killed and James lost his job (the CEO of his company had been embezeling and they basically just sent everyone home at lunch time, no warning at all). What doesn't kill you makes you stronger though, and about 2 months later, right after our delayed honeymoon to Disney World, he had a new job on the south side of Denver. We moved down here and have been here ever since. I found out I was pregnant with Gracie in September of '03, she was born May 1, 2004, and on her first birthday we found out I was pregnant with Ian, who was born December 30, 2005. We have two cats and a dog and reside happily in our little townhome. I am a stay-at-home mom and I babysit a little boy Gracie's age a few hours a week. James still has the job that brought us down here and will probably stay with his company for a long time. So that's the short version of what I've been up to since graduation. What about you?

Re: What have you been up to since '92?
Here is my update. I went to Judson College that fall and stayed a year and hated it. I then ended up at the College of DuPage where I graduated in 94 with an Associates in Arts, majoring in Criminal Justice. I was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician, which came in handy at my parents ranch in Wyoming, where I spent quite a few summers. I was involved in a bad boating accident on Lake Michigan in 95, almost lost my dad, but thankfully he is still here. After that boating accident, my life changed and I didn't want to pursue anything I had been doing, so I started looking for a different job and moved out of my parent's house. I started working for Progress Software where I was an office manager and love it. I worked there from 96-98, until I met my future husband through a friend. Scott and I met in September of 1997 and we had a long distance relationship since I was living in Illinois and he was living in Florida. I moved to Florida in July of 1998 and we got married in August. We eloped at my parents ranch, where my dad married us. I ended up not going back to work after we got married, as I found out I was pregnant not too long after our honeymoon and I stayed at home with Bobby (born May 1999) until he started first grade, then I went back to work. I worked for a pre-employment background invesitgator and loved doing that kind of work, I did it for a year and then we moved to our current house in Central Florida. We are enjoying enjoying the more laid back lifestyle and are having fun as a family. That's all for my update for now. :-)

Re: What have you been up to since '92?
Seriously? All the epic battle that has been the past 14 years? Oy. After graduation, I went to Northland for a year and a half. I left school midway through my Sophomore year because I was very ill due to problems with managing my diabetes. After I got well, I started working at an aviation insurance brokerage, which was very fun. I got to travel a lot. After that job, I floated on to various other cubicle-dwelling office drone positions. I met my first husband on a failed blind date. He was set up, I was set up, we were both stood up. We met and married WAY too fast. 2 months into our marriage, I learned he had been unfaithful and had no qualms with that and no intentions of stopping. He wouldn't go to counseling, he wouldn't stop cheating and he thought I should be okay with that. I wasn't, so I moved out, divorced him and took my cats and my maiden name back.
So I signed up for golf lessons and that is where I re-met my second husband. Dave was a boy I had a huge crush on in High School. He tried teaching me how to swing a golf club, but I stunk at it. When I quit lessons, he said he was relieved because he wasn't allowed to date his students but he wanted to ask me out. We dated for seven years and got engaged the Christmas after 9/11. After we were married, what used to be his playful teasing became painful verbal abuse. Unfortunately, he was also suffering from a brain tumor and debilitating migraine headaches. I stayed until he had a clean bill of health and we tried counseling but nothing was helping. We tried a temporary separation during which time he met his current girlfriend. That kind of prevented any reconciliation for us! Again, I took my cats and my maiden name back.
One day I was at The Ram, alone, watching the 49ers game. I was in a happy, friendly mood and told the guy sitting next to me that I wanted a drink and I thought he should buy me one. So he did. We sat and talked and learned that we both attended the same church and both volunteered with the same volunteer organization. We started dating and going to church services together and getting to know each other. He was also divorced, and we shared our horror stories and bonded over our experiences. One year, one month and one day later we got married barefoot on the beach in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Two months later we learned that I was pregnant with Jackson, who was born a few weeks ago. They say that the third time is the charm. Both Tim and I feel that we had to experience our bad failed marriages in order to fully appreciate what we have found in each other. Tim and I live in Schaumburg with my cats, our two dogs and our son Jack. Tim is the Director of IT for an intellectual property research firm in The Loop. I'm a stay at home mom. It was a long, winding road here but I've finally arrived at the corner of Peace and Happy.

Re: What have you been up to since '92?
OK ... so shortly after graduation I decided to join the military and during my testing it was found that would be a good candidate for the special forces... ok j/k. After graduation I started working for my Dad doing CAD/CAM and helping him with his first of 4 technical books. I was also working at a Christian Bookstore assisting with the music dept (this comes into play later) and with the youth dept at the Village Church of Barrington as Asst. to the Youth Pastor and youth band leader. In 1994 I moved out to Colorado with my parents. It was either that of fend for myself in Chicago (come on.. like you would not have gone too). About a week or so after getting out to Colorado I started in masonry. A guy from the Church we were starting to attend needed someone and I need money. Did that for a year while working with the youth group in my Church. In 1995 I came back to Chicago and was working with the youth in Barrington again. I was also working for a custom cabinetry shop in Lake Zurich. Fall of 1996 I moved BACK to Colorado and that December I married Beth, whom I had been dating for the past 3 1/2 years (she was the main reason I went back to Chicago for the year). After I moved the poor city girl from Barrington to Woodland Park, CO (pop. 5000) I started as the manager of a pizza place. Did that for about a year and then got into landscaping. Was injured on the job, got screwed over by the owner (he got booted from the Church over it) and the fall of 1997 I started at Compassion International. Spring of 1998 I moved into the I.T. Dept and started to quickly move up the food chain. By 2000 I was a senior tech and in 2002 I was made System/Network Admin. I was traveling all over the place (Canada, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand and others) and got pretty burned out by early 2005. That May I walked away and took a few months to just unwind (OK, my wife called it unemployed). During my time there I was the support for Compassion remote users. This happen to include their music team who live in Nashville. I became good friends with a Spence Smith (former drummer for BIg Tent Revival) and he introduced me to tons of artist during this time period. (again, this will play a roll later) In July 2005 I started with a company called Westone as a project manager and 2 months later was moved into the music dept. I helped get the Artist Relations Team up and going fully and now assist with that and play a roll on the Marketing/PR and Dealer Realtions team. Yes I actually get paid to go to concerts ... I know crazy huh? This is where the working in the music dept of the bookstore and becoming friends paid off. Knowledge of bands .. good. So currently, I am living in a small town called Divide with my wife Beth, Caleb (9) and Hannah (5), 2 dogs and 2 cats on a nice piece of land surrounded by national forest.. oh yeah almost forgot. I can see Pikes Peak from my drive way. ;-)

Re: What have you been up to since '92?
OK, I guess it's my turn to update everyone. Well I never made it to the Marine Corps as I had always dreamed of in High School; I just could not bring myself to work for Bill Clinton. So the summer of 92 my family and I moved out to the corn fields of Illinois; the little town of Ohio, IL (pop. 550). It is located about 1hr and 45min West from Schaumburg. I attended the local community college in Dixon, IL and completed my first year of Electronics. I took a year off and moved back into Palatine and worked in Addison repairing power tools. Before the '94/'95 school year started i took a few months off and traveled out west to SD, WY and CO. I worked in SD for a 3 or 4 weeks with Tim Stradingers dad. I picked Doug and Beth up in CO and we went to WY and spent some time at Lisa's parents guest ranch taking guests on horse back rides through the mountains and bad lands of WY; it was totally awesome, those are some real good memories. I graduated from Electronics school spring of '95 and took a job in electronics. In May of '96 after I decided I had enough of dating (thats a completely different story) I met my wife Amy at a church picnic. In Aug of '96 I asked her to marry me, and in November we were married. I quite my job in November of '98 to start my own electronics/programming business. We have 4 children Tyler - 8, MaKayla - 6, Zachary - 3, Julia -6mo. You can check out our web site at: www.thekellerfam.com Its a few month out of date. We are still living in Ohio, IL. Last week I have moved my office 30 miles NW to Sterling, IL. Sometime in '07 we would like to move somewhere between Sterling, IL and Oregon, IL. (We attend church in Oregon, IL). So thats the short version of what has happened the last 14 or so years.
